  • What are the benefits of spaying or neutering my pet?

Spaying or neutering your pet can extend their lifespan by 1-3 years for dogs and 3-5 years for cats. These procedures also help reduce behavioral issues such as roaming and marking, decrease the risk of reproductive cancers, and assist in controlling the stray pet population in Los Angeles.
  • What should I know about post-operative care after spay/neuter surgery?

For optimal recovery after spay/neuter surgery: administer pain medication as prescribed, maintain regular feeding habits unless instructed otherwise, ensure bedding is clean and dry, limit activity for about two weeks, prevent the pet from licking the incision site, and monitor for signs of concern such as lethargy, appetite loss, or discharge. Contact us promptly if you have any concerns.
  • Do you have an in-house pharmacy and diagnostic facility?

Western Animal Hospital is equipped with an in-house pharmacy for convenient medication access. We also have digital X-ray capabilities and an in-house diagnostic laboratory to support efficient and accurate health assessments for your pets.
  • What can I expect during my pet's first visit?

During your pet's initial visit, we conduct a thorough examination and ensure all required vaccinations are up-to-date. Dr. Kim will provide guidance on nutrition, exercise, and home dental care. We'll also discuss preventive measures, including spay/neuter options for pets not intended for breeding.
